![]()
Jorge Vega, creator of the comics Gunplay & Kaeru Boy and winner of the 2007 Comic Book Challenge, has joined The Devil Has A Variety Show crew. Jorge will be bringing his epic 9 Months to life as an animated series. 9 Months is the story of a pregnant seventeen year old, Thomasina Bigger. After Thomasina kills the child’s father in self-defense, the father’s brother, a powerful druglord, vows to kill Thomasina as soon as her baby is born, giving her 9 months to live. Thomasina picks up a gun and begins a journey which will transform her, testing her humanity along the way.
“Show me a story of a pregnant girl holding a gat and I’m hooked” said DHVS creator, Mark Fogarty. ”I had a chance to read 9 Months and was blown away by the depth and power of the story. Jorge is an incredible writer with a real instinct for storytelling. We are honored to have him involved in the show.”
The comic 9 Months is published by Two Fisted Press. Issue 1 is already available for purchase.
